Progression Review

Progression reviews document student progress and support decisions. The review process tracks two types of information:

Timeline & Evidence (Past)

Records of support and formal notifications:

  • Development meetings — prove support was offered
  • Warnings issued — prove formal notification of risk
  • Follow-up meetings — document continued support
  • Decision meetings — document student hearing
  • Student acknowledgments — student confirmed receipt of warning
  • Counselor referrals — referral when personal circumstances claimed
  • Deferral notifications — opschorting approval when applicable

Improvement Plan & Actions (Future)

Planned work the student must undertake:

  • Planned meetings — visible to student
  • Submit assignment — visible to student
  • Improve score target — visible to student
  • Counselor appointment — visible to student
  • Internal coordinator tasks — hidden from student by default (use visibility toggle to reveal)

Decision Flow

Progression reviews follow a three-stage process:

  1. Mentor Recommendation — mentor submits recommendation (positive / negative / defer)
  2. Committee Review — coordinator/admin reviews evidence and prepares decision
  3. Final Decision — binding decision issued with appeal window

Key Requirements

Before a negative decision, the system checks:

  • ✓ Warning issued
  • ✓ Development meeting held
  • ✓ Student informed
  • ✓ Decision meeting completed
  • ✓ Deferral eligibility checked

Each institution can configure these requirements based on local policy. - Add examencommissie role as first-class role
