Institution Review Definitions
Each institution can configure its own progression review types and policies.
What you can do
Go to Settings or Review Definitions to:
- Create and configure review types for your institution
- Define decision thresholds and stages
- Set required evidence for binding decisions
- Configure event and action types
- Upload policy documents and guidelines
- Set applicable academic years
Configuration options
Review Type Settings: - Local name (e.g., "BSA", "Progression Review", "Advancement Assessment") - Description and purpose - Trigger months and timing - Binding decision indicator - Applicable academic year - Available learning outcomes for review - Active status
Decision Policy: - Number of decision stages (2 or 3) - Warning threshold - Decision threshold - Required evidence types before negative decision - Required evidence types before binding decision
Event & Action Types: - Create custom event types (meetings, warnings, referrals) - Create custom action types (tasks, assignments, appointments) - Set visibility (student-visible or internal) - Define decision stages
How it works
When a review is created for a student, the system uses the institutional definition to:
- Determine which review type applies
- Check policy requirements before allowing decisions
- Enforce required evidence collection
- Validate decision stages
- Apply institutional thresholds
Scope
Definitions are scoped to institutions, so each organization can have different review processes and policies that match local regulations and requirements.
